SOCIAL NETWORKING - THE NEW HELL?

Although in many ways I feel that my now 4 years in Thailand have brought me much closer to happiness - fulfillment certainly - there is one area I feel I have succumed to the Darker Side:

Actually I quite like MySpace, beause it introduces me to lots of interesting people, and hopefully me to them too. Click on the logo to get to my page. As long as you're not phishing or a bot, your are welcome to be my friend there and can subscribe to my blogs there too.

Last December I was stuck at Narita Airport in Tokyo for a week waiting for Bangkok to re-open, and started blogging regularly. You are welcome to sign up to "follow" it, though I cannot say how often I will be able to update it, and please regard anything you read as confidential between you and I.

You will notice there's no Facebook here, although I do have a Facebook page, I almost never look at it. It seems designed to waste the user's time and delay them getting on with work. Maybe thats what it's for. I live happily in the knowledge that its inventors, with be pushing rocks up hills for millenia after they die.

I know Steven Fry, who in other respects is a hero of mine, is a fan of Twitter for getting rid of bats - All I can say is, he must have much too long in his trailer with nothing else to do! ("Hi Steven!")
